It’s well-known that the seeds of learning are sown when the baby is in the womb itself. In this article, learn more on how to teach a baby in the womb, for a better future for the baby.
The methods and the purpose of teaching an unborn baby, are altogether different from the regular methods of teaching. There is a growing scientific evidence that, by the end of third trimester of pregnancy, the baby in the womb is developed enough to recognize the noise stimuli around it (like the mother’s heartbeat and the different movements in the mother’s body), owing to the brain development. Some researchers are also of the opinion that, when a baby in the womb is taught, it grows up to be a smarter person. It’s well-known that a baby in the womb is able to recognize internal stimulation and external sounds, alike. The aim of teaching a baby in the womb is thus, making it familiar with the complexities of the external environment. The teaching conditions the baby’s mind and prepares it to face the future change of environment.
Teaching a Baby in the Womb
A soon-to-be-mother often talks with her baby, about her day, future, etc. This is a healthy way to communicate with the baby, and helps in its brain development. Even if the baby is not able to respond to the talk, it does listen to these active sounds around it. The soft baby talk by the mother or father, conditions the mind of the baby and strengthens its senses. Teaching a baby in the womb is a healthy way to keep the babies’ senses active and developing. Soft music, baby talk, reading to the baby, and techniques to make it familiar with the different senses, are effective ways to teach an unborn baby.
Environment: The environment setting also plays a crucial role while teaching a baby in the womb. The mother-to-be should select a calm and quiet place as the teaching location. This location should be kept a no smoking and clean zone. She should then sit comfortably on a chair or a bed and play some soft genre music or lullabies. Earphones can be used, or the sound producing device can be kept near the stomach of the pregnant lady, for a better effect. Though the effect of music on the baby’s mind is not scientifically proven, there are some theories that support it.
Role of Father and Family Members: The role of the father in the teaching process is also important and cannot be ignored. The father or the mother should read out some moral short stories, or some general knowledge books to the baby. Reading and explaining to the baby can be an enjoyable experience for the expecting couple. Reading out to the baby develops the voice recognition pattern in the baby. Group talking is also of great help. Gather all your family members and make them talk to your baby. The baby’s senses thus get familiar to these voices. After it is born, the baby wouldn’t face trouble while bonding with people.
Feelings and Thoughts: How the mother thinks and feels also has a minute effect on the baby’s mind. The mother should always feel good about herself, and instill positive and happy thoughts in her mind. To make the baby familiar with the senses, the woman should herself feel the different fragrances, like the smell of a rose, or a freshly painted wall. As the mother senses the various smells, the baby also senses them along with her. This helps in the sense development of the baby in the womb.
Relish All the Flavors: Do this at least till the time your baby is in the womb. This is because, the baby can taste the amniotic fluid which is produced in the amniotic sac of a pregnant woman. The baby thus gets to taste all the flavors when it is in the womb. Apparently, such babies wouldn’t give much trouble while eating.
These techniques are just additional measures that help in the proper development of the baby. The primary requirements are that of following a healthy and nutritious diet, and a safe lifestyle. The future mother should also not do any heavy physical exercise, and should stay away from smoking and drinking, for the best of baby’s health.
