Fight Anxiety with These Essential Vitamins and Supplements

Home / Uncategorized / Fight Anxiety with These Essential Vitamins and Supplements

Do you feel on edge and worried constantly?  Have you experienced irrational fears that just won’t go away? Do everyday situations cause you to feel anxious? Have you ever had sudden and unexpected bouts of panic, for seemingly no reason? If any of those questions ring true for you, you might be suffering from anxiety, and fighting anxiety is no fun for anyone. It can disrupt your daily life, make you feel like you’re having a medical emergency, and cause some people to fall into depression.  Because we know that not everyone wants to treat their anxiety with medication, we’ve compiled a list of essential vitamins and supplements that can help curb your anxiety.

Vitamins and Supplements to Help With Anxiety

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is the first vitamin that people might want to consider taking if they are fighting anxiety.  Some people who are fighting anxiety have been shown to be lacking Vitamin A. Proven to help manage the symptoms associated with anxiety, Vitamin A is essential to your mental health.

Vitamin C

Another important vitamin in the fight against anxiety is Vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to be an important vitamin in immune health but can also help prevent oxidative damage to your nervous system. Over time, this oxidative damage can increase anxiety.

Vitamin E

Let's Work Together!

Our body uses a lot of Vitamin E when we are feeling stressed and have anxiety. Taking Vitamin E may be able to help restore your body’s natural balance and help reduce your symptoms.

Vitamin B

There are several types of B vitamins in our body, and taking a B-complex vitamin each day allows our body to supplement all of the B vitamins we need. Many of these B-Vitamins play a role in maintaining a healthy nervous system, which contributes to your overall mental health.  Maintaining your nervous system is a good step in helping to improve the symptoms of anxiety.

Vitamin D

Taking any of the above vitamins is a great step in managing your anxiety naturally but they don’t do any good if our body doesn’t take them in.  Hence, Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps our body absorb other vitamins. If you are deficient in Vitamin D,  your body will have a hard time absorbing other vitamins. A daily dose of Vitamin D is essential.

L-theanine

L-theanine is an amino acid and the soothing property that is found in green teas. The natural calming effect of this supplement can ease feelings of anxiety. The recommended dose is around 200mg daily.

Kava Kava

Kava Kava is a calming tonic that comes from a South Pacific plant. It targets the GABA receptors, naturally managing anxiety symptoms. Kava can be taken in tea, capsule, powder, or liquid form.

Anxiety isn’t anything to be ashamed of and if natural supplements or vitamins don’t seem to be helping your symptoms, don’t be afraid to talk to a doctor. You don’t have to suffer from anxiety, there are treatment options available to help.
